This is very worrying stuff, I have also heard anecdotally that companies are hiring fewer juniors, but how do they expect to get trained seniors in the long run if this is true?

I'm following this development very closely. It is worrying, but it's also important to keep things in perspective. It's not like no companies are hiring junior employees. Over 80% still do. That said, getting a job as a recent graduate is undeniably more challenging now than in the past. Even finding internships while in school is more difficult.

This is a topic that interests me a great deal. I'm currently working on a new research project that addresses this exact problem. I'm curious to see where it leads me.

That's a good point, yeah a few anecdotes aren't the same as stats, I guess I let the hype get to me.

That sounds great, I look forward to hearing about it more on here

Very thought-provoking, Alina. I have the same concern about low lever bookkeeping and accounting jobs. Many of them are barely a level up from data entry.

It's interesting you mention that. I plan to write an article on how I think the accounting profession needs to evolve. I even believe we should start calling it something other than accounting.
