Why I Started FutureSkill
I’ve spent nearly 25 years navigating the realities of work across industries like publishing, finance, and tech. From my first office job at a law firm to serving as CFO of a tech startup, I’ve seen firsthand how career paths can be shaped by stability, personal growth, and evolving market demands.
But over time, I realized the traditional approach to education and career preparation wasn’t keeping pace with the way work was changing. Students are being prepared for a world that no longer exists, focusing on degrees rather than skills and memorization over adaptability.
This realization has led me to dive deep into the future of work. I’ve co-authored best-selling books, published research, and collected insights from over 60 leading reports and 70+ books on careers and education, all to better understand how we can bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world readiness.
